A question, and an extension service
Why does the farmer with the least margin for error get the least reliable information? The answer took the shape of a farmer platform built around the Hindi brand रोशनी किसान सहायक — crop diagnosis, scientific advisory, mandi rates, government schemes.

Reaching farmers had been solved; knowing their soil had not. Advice is only as good as what it is based on — and that is what turned an extension service into a technology company.

A joint centre with GBPUAT, Pantnagar
A Memorandum of Understanding signed on 23 September 2026 establishes the GBPUAT–Rosni Centre for Digital Agriculture Innovation and Commercialization within the University — a framework for taking research through validation to the field.

From satellite and soil intelligence to AI-powered crop advisory and connected farmer networks, Rosni turns agricultural data into decisions — for the farmer with ten acres and the mill with ten thousand.
How we work
Four things we hold to
- Start with the decision, not the data
- Agriculture generates enormous amounts of data and very few usable decisions. Everything we build is judged on whether somebody can act on it today.
- Build for the phone that exists
- Not the equipment a farm might own one day. Precision advice that assumes machinery most Indian farms do not have is advice that does not get used.
- Science, embedded
- Agronomy lives inside the algorithms rather than being bolted on afterwards. That is the difference between a thermostat with an app and a system that understands a crop.
- Claim only what can be shown
- Every figure on this site traces to a source document. Where a number cannot be substantiated, it does not appear.

Technical training and support
Rosni's engineering and data teams receive technical training and support through IN-SPACe, Google for Startups and Claude for Startups, with certifications from IN-SPACe and Google. Rosni has been invited to speak at IN-SPACe and Google programmes, including the IN-SPACe National Space Day programme at Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Patiala, in August 2026.

Rajeev Tomer
Founder Director
Twenty-four years across agribusiness, information technology and management — a decade in Indian and multinational agribusiness, then fourteen years founding and building agri-technology ventures. MBA in Agri Business and a B.Sc. in Agriculture. His work in agricultural extension has been awarded by the Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India, and recognised by NITI Aayog.
